andtwinkleonthemilkyway,
theystretch’dinnever-endingline
alongthemarginofabay:
tenthousandsawiataglance,
tossingtheirheadsinsprightlydance.
thewavesbesidethemdanced,butthey
out-didthesparklingwavesinglee:
apoetcouldnotbutbegay
insuchajocundpany!
egaze–andgazed–butlittlethought

foroft,whenonmycouchilie
invacantorinpensivemood,
theyflashuponthatinwardeye
